Terms of Service

Effective 25 August 2026 · Version 2026-08-25

This is the agreement between you — the person who runs a farm stand — and SimpleStand, which hosts your stand’s page. It is in plain English on purpose. If a part of it is unclear, write and ask.

1. What SimpleStand is

A web page for your farm stand, and a printed sign with a QR code on it. You put out what you’re selling from your phone; customers scan the code and see today’s list. $100 a year, per stand.

2. We never handle your money

This is the most important thing on this page. SimpleStand does not process payments and never holds your money. The pay buttons on your page are links out to your own Venmo, Cash App, Zelle or card account. Money moves from your customer to you without passing through us.

3. Your stand’s content is yours

Everything on your page — the list, the prices, the words, the photos, the logo — is yours, and you keep it.

You give us permission to store, copy and display it for the purpose of running your stand’s page and printing your sign. That permission is what lets us serve the page at all. It ends when your stand does, apart from backups that age out on their own.

You are responsible for what you publish. That means:

Words that mean something specific

“Certified organic” and the USDA organic seal require actual certification. Do not put either on your page unless you hold it. Plain “organic” for garden produce may be open to you under the USDA’s exemption for operations selling under $5,000 a year, but that exemption does not carry over to baked or processed goods, where it becomes a much higher bar. The same care applies to “non-GMO”, “pasture-raised”, “grass-fed”, “raw” and to any claim about health.

If you are not sure a word applies to you, leave it off. We do not review your page for this, and we will remove a claim we are told is false.

4. Food safety and allergens

You make the food. You sell the food. You are responsible for it.

The cottage-food, home-kitchen, licensing, labelling and inspection rules where you live are yours to know and to follow. SimpleStand is a web page. It is not a food-safety program, and nothing on it has been reviewed by anyone qualified to review it.

Your page can carry an allergen note, and one is switched on by default. It is a courtesy to your customers — not legal advice, and not a substitute for whatever your jurisdiction actually requires. You may edit it and you may turn it off. What it says, and whether it is there at all, is your decision and your responsibility.

If a customer is harmed by something you sold, that is between you and them. You agree to cover us against any claim brought against us arising out of food you made or sold.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use SimpleStand to publish:

And do not use it for something that is not a stand. It is not general web hosting, a file drop, or a redirect service.

6. Reports and takedown

Anyone can write to us about a stand.

We may remove content, or suspend or close a stand, where we believe it breaks these terms or where the law requires it. We host your images ourselves, so removal is immediate and does not need your cooperation.

We will tell you what we removed and why, at the address on your account, unless the law says otherwise. If we got it wrong, write back — we would rather fix a mistake than defend it.

7. Your account

You get in with a sign-in link, or with a Google or Microsoft account. Keep control of whatever address you use: anyone who can read your email can change your prices.

Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got in.

8. Fees

$100 a year, per stand, paid in advance. It covers your page, your sign, and the tools to run both.

We will tell you before the price changes, and a change never applies to a year you have already paid for.

You can stop whenever you like. We do not pro-rate the remainder of a year that has already begun — but if you have only just paid and it turns out not to be for you, write to us and we will sort it out.

9. If the site goes down

Your page is built to be hard to knock over. There is no database on the path a customer takes, and if we cannot read your current list the page falls back to your last saved one rather than going blank.

But there is no uptime guarantee here and no support hotline. This is a small service at a small price. Do not build something around it that cannot survive a bad afternoon.

10. Ending it

You can close your stand at any time by writing to us.

We can end this agreement if you break these terms, if you stop paying, or if we stop running the service. If we shut the service down we will give you as much notice as we reasonably can, and get you a copy of your content.

When a stand closes, its page stops answering and its content is deleted. Ask us before you go if you want a copy.

11. What we do not promise

SimpleStand is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, we do not promise it is fit for any particular purpose, and we promise nothing at all about the sales you do or do not make with it.

So far as the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising out of this service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost sales, lost profits, or indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Changes to these terms

These terms carry a version, shown at the top of this page. When we change them we bump it, and we keep a record of which version you agreed to and when.

If a change is more than housekeeping, we will tell you before it takes effect.
